Search For A Hero
26th February 2011
This time Absys pays some tribute to the digital side of music – here’s our first official mp3 release in the form of 'Search for a Hero' Ep from the Estonian duo going by the name of Indivision. These guys are known to be able to skillfully combine fat & rolling beats with deep, spacious basslines and beautiful, melodic backgrounds.
Examples of such combos are to be found here as well; what’s more, not only in the shape of d’n’b, because on this EP there’s also one precious little dubstep gem – 'Loss of Control' which actually bears similar traits to those of Indivision’s d’n’b – solid beat adorned with a flowing bassline and in the case of the aforementioned track – as an addition, a steady stream of mesmerizing vocals. However, coming back to the heart of the matter – to d’n’b, of course, with this EP Indivision prove that it’s really worth to keep your eye and ear on them in the future. So few tracks and so much quality – they serve a really healthy meal of both energy and ambience: 'Chimera', a confident dancefloor stomper, 'Within a Dream', full of zest and dynamism, the already mentioned melancholic 'Loss of Control' and sparse, delicate 'Maria'. An exceptional mix of what’s best from Indivision, this time with Absys quality mark.
Hailing from the European capital of Estonia, Indivision has now become a house hold name within the drum and bass scene. Pushing out their first release in 2010 with ‘Secret Vision’ and ‘Rubik’s Cube’, Indivsion has gone on to produce huge club smashers and dance hits being pushed out by the some of the biggest names in the drum and bass scene such as Grooverider, John B, Mistabishi, Maduk, Netsky to name only a few. With countless remixes of his work only following suit from Grafix, Chords and Urban Contact. Indivision has released over 100 tracks including almost 50 free releases completely for free to this day. Indivison has forumalted and developed a powerful and hard hitting style that can only be described as their own staple sound that has led to Indivision working with some of the best labels within the scene such Toolroom, Liquicity, Beta, Ministry of Sound, Have-a-Break.
