Molecular Structures - Here in the Dark
Molecular Structures - Jungle Fever
Molecular Structures - Night
Molecular Structures - The Addict

It’s already become a tradition – Absys Records has been making a regular contribution to the development of d’n’b scence by successively delivering numerous free releases that are characterized not only by high quality, but also by the broad roster of artists involved in the project.
The release presented today is also an opportunity to welcome yet another producer to the team. Here is, born in Dusseldorf, bred in Belgrad and currently living in Sheffield, Molecular Structures, aka Filip Dragovic. His new material is surprisingly diverse, especially considering that this is only a 4-track EP. However, the EP does not lack a common denominator in the form of ever-present depth in its various shades.
Starting off with “Here in the Dark” we are accompanied by its pulsating bassline that veils its subtle, mysterious background. Going further, the listener gets to travel a little faster thanks to “Jungle Fever” – simple beats supported by a slightly harsh, though still deep bassline emphasize the ‘predatory’ nature of the track, yet the various different sounds from the background tend to soothe its general mood, making the whole sound incredible. A dubsteppish “Night” is a similar story – it sounds also amazing, mainly owing to not only what’s typical of Molecular Elements – that is the deep, fat beats, but also to what reminds of something exotic and oriental: booming basslines resembling the sound of zither or the rustle of tambourine in the background. The EP ends with “The Addict” – a blend of rolling, rough beats and scant bassline; it is precisely this simplicity that makes for the track’s strength and appeal and this, combined with some smaller elements in the background along with the central narration does not allow this track to fall down the tunnel of monotony. Yet another release which proves that you don’t have to pay for everything good that you can get.
